Auction activity is picking up. Cedar County tops the market this week at $19,000/acre. Harvest is rapidly approaching.

Auction activity is starting to pick up. Butler County topped the market this week at $17,300/acre. I’ve witnessed grain bins getting emptied for new crops and new grain bins being assembled. Harvest is coming fast!

Dallas County rang the bell this week with some transitional land selling at $25,100/acre, $24,100/acre, and $22,700/acre. Auction season is here - over the next 30 days, there are over 15,000 acres on deck to be auctioned.

Auction activity is picking up with two sales in Plymouth County - $20,400/acre and $20,100/acre. The USDA August report shocked the corn market with record yield, 188 bushels/acre, and 2 million more acres of corn.

Auction activity should start picking up in August, but there was not enough activity to test the market again this week. We had additional rain and there is even more in the extended forecast.

We’ve been fortunate to receive rain heading into mid-July, and crops are looking good overall. Auction volume is expected to pick up in August.

Not much is happening this week due to the 4th of July holiday. Corn is beginning to pollinate, and weather has been favorable.

Greene County had a strong sale at $15,550/acre. I’m hearing of some good rain falls around the state and crops look really good going into July.

It was another slow week with not enough auction activity to test the market. I was in South Central and Southwest Iowa over the weekend and crops look very good.
