Surveys published by various organizations have a time lag and can quickly become outdated. Iowa Land Auction Prices, December 2-8
Sac County tops the market with a sale at $19,870/acre, with honorable mention going to Buchanan County’s sale at $18,500/acre. The 2023 auction season is winding down with decent volume expected for the next two weeks.
Iowa Land Auction Prices, November 25-December 1
Auction activity fired right back up after the Thanksgiving holiday. Butler County delivers this week with a $21,000/acre sale. If that’s not a county record, it is close.
Iowa Land Auction Prices, November 18-24
Sioux County gets top honors with $23,700/acre and $17,000/acre sales. Honorable mention goes to Chickasaw County with a $16,500/acre sale. I’m seeing some strong prices with a few “light” sales sprinkled in.

Lyon, Harrison, & Sioux counties top the market with sales at $25,200/acre each. Harrison County had a sale at $20,900/acre, while Sioux County had a sale at $20,600/acre. Boone & Plymouth counties earn honorable mention with each having a sale at $18,600/acre.

It is “go time” for land auctions as a lot of land is going to auction over the next four weeks. Stay tuned - land prices seem to be getting a post-harvest bump.

Iowa County is usually a quiet county, but it made plenty of noise on Friday with headlining sales of $15,200/acre and $15,050/acre.

Poweshiek County’s $20,500/acre sale topped the market this week, while Black Hawk County took honorable mention at $14,200/acre. We have had some good harvest weather and crops are disappearing fast.

The soybean harvest is almost done, and soon the corn harvest will be going full speed. Osceola County tops the market this week with a $19,700/acre sale, while honorable mention goes to Jefferson County with a sale at $16,900/acre.

Grundy County tops the market at $21,600/acre with an honorable mention $19,500/acre sale in O’Brien County. Auction activity will slow a bit for harvest and will ramp up at the end of the month.

Top honors go to Palo Alto County with a sale at $17,500/acre. Honorable mention goes to Kossuth County at $17,200/acre. Auction activity will slow a bit in October for harvest but lots of activity is expected in November and December.

Benton County tops the market at $20,900/acre. Honorable mention goes to Mahaska County with a sale at $18,000/acre. Auction activity will be very busy over the next two weeks. Keep praying for rain.
