Iowa Land Auction Prices, January 24-30, 2026

February 2, 2026

Cerro Gordo County tops the market this week at $14,700/acre. Unfortunately, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow which means six more weeks of winter. I listened to a presentation by Derrel Peel of Oklahoma State University. Derrel specializes in cattle markets and forecasts the cattle market will be strong in the next couple of years. Cattle prices will continue to go up. Beef demand is strong and consumers are willing to pay for beef. If you are thinking about feeding cattle under roof, you need to check out my latest Land Talker TV episode. I visited with Bill Rubis of Permanent Farming. Bill knows all about building deep pit cattle buildings: https://youtu.be/H6xwHMo4WOQ
