Sioux County tops the market this week with two sales, one tract selling for $23,500/acre and the other for $22,700/acre. Honorable mention goes to Dallas County with a sale at $17,100/acre. According to the National Weather Service in Des Moines, 2022 is tied with 2012 for second place for the number of wind advisories issued, trailing 2014 by two. So, if you thought it has been windy, it has! And cold! The extended forecast anticipates a good amount of precipitation coming. The USDA estimates 2% of Iowa’s corn crop has been planted. The 5-year average for this time of year is 15%.
