Iowa Land Auction Prices, October 30-November 5, 2021

Sioux County had two sales this week to take top honors. One sale came in at $18,500/acre and another for $18,300/acre. No sales this week were influenced by wind energy or development - just pure farm ground. O’Brien County receives honorable mention with a sale at $17,700/acre.

There are over 10,000 acres of Iowa farmland going to auction in 7 days, with almost 18,000 acres to be auctioned by mid-month, and even more auctions coming. I don’t think there has ever been a time in Iowa land history when so much land has been offered to the public. Many farms going to auction now have been held in tight hands for generations, with this being a first-time public offering. It’s a great time to be a buyer and a great time to be a seller. As I always say, the best time to buy a farm is when it is for sale!

“That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!”
