Top honors go to Sioux County with 120 acres going for $17,100/acre. Honorable mention goes to Kossuth County with 80 acres going for $16,500/acre, and 160 acres for $15,600/acre at the same auction. Strong prices continue. As I visit with farm realtors across the state, harvest is progressing well. Most yields are exceeding expectations which is a pleasant surprise for as dry as it was during the growing season. November will be very exciting with many acres going to auction. This will offer some great opportunities to buyers as some of these farms have not been exposed to the market for several generations.
