Iowa Land Auction Prices, April 30-May 6, 2021

Posted on May 10, 2021 at 10:47 AM by Jim Rothermich

This week Henry County topped the market at $13,750/acre. Corn prices increased $.50/bushel in one week. Hyper-sensitive is the only way to describe grain markets. Dry weather in Brazil, fears of drought in the corn belt, and an extremely tight supply fueled the perfect storm to drive corn prices higher. The U.S. exported a record 373 million bushels of corn in March. This was the highest single month on record, beating out the previous record set in May 2018 by 68 million bushels. Corn has rallied $2 in the last two months. With the strong demand for corn, I do not see the corn market cooling off anytime soon. Land prices will respond to the positive news.

“That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!”
