Iowa Land Auction Prices, January 15-21, 2021

It was a fairly active week with Lyon County having one of the highest sale prices, $16,800/acre, for this sale season. According to the realtor, the buyer was a local farmer with the runner up bidder being an investor who owns land in the area. There were four active bidders with about ten minutes of actual bidding time. The farm is in an area where little land has come up for sale on the open market. The sale price exceeded expectations. Typical prices in this market area range from $12,000-$14,000/acre.
