Iowa Land Auction Prices, April 17-23, 2020

Auction activity is pretty much slowed seasonally. There were 365 acres auctioned this week, of which 327 were tillable. The market has been resilient so far with the COVID-19 situation. There have been numerous ethanol plants shuttered. The demand for corn is down, and how this will affect land prices is yet to be determined. There are very few auctions scheduled in the next 30 days so it will be difficult to measure the effect of COVID-19 on land prices. There will be weeks with no auctions. I will keep visiting with realtors to get a feel for what the market is doing and will continue to post information weekly.
