Iowa Land Auction Prices, April 10-16, 2020

It was a fairly active week, right before planting season goes into full swing with 1,434 acres offered at auction, of which 1,198 were tillable. The land market is hanging in there despite the ethanol plants that are currently shuttered. The future of ethanol is weighing heavily on market participants, making lower quality farms tougher to sell. Realtors are saying they can get deals negotiated but it is taking longer than it did 60 days ago. Good quality farms are still holding value.
“That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!”
