Iowa Land Auction Prices, August 24-30, 2018

Posted on September 3, 2018 at 8:00 AM by Jim Rothermich

There was about the same amount of auction activity this week as last. 2,626 acres were offered, of which 1,712 were tillable. The market is being somewhat volatile. There were two auctions in Calhoun County less than 10 miles apart; one of the farms was a “no sale” and one farm sold above the realtor’s expectations. It was said that both farms were good quality. I would expect this trend to continue as some areas will have crop yields as good as last year, and some areas will be far below last year. The uncertainty has some farmers bidding very cautiously at auction.

“That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!” Please check back next week to see what the Iowa land market is doing.
